132 project ideas.
3 of them finished.

The actual problem

It's not talent that's missing. It's structure.

You know how to produce. That's not the question. The question is why 132 folders are “somehow almost done” and none of them knows its next step. Folders and to-do lists manage work. They don't show you how far along a track really is.

01
Every track looks equally unfinished
A file name says nothing about substance. Without a maturity signal you keep opening the wrong project every night.
02
The reality check never happens
Collecting ideas feels productive. Deciding feels risky. So nobody decides.
03
Releases happen by accident, not by process
What gets finished gets finished because a deadline forced it. Not because your system carried it there.
The track lifecycle
Stage 01 · Spark

Dump everything in. No judgement.

Loops, hooks, voice notes at 2 a.m. Spark is the only place with zero expectations - ideas get to be raw. That's exactly why they land here instead of nowhere.

Stage 02 · Ideas

Give the idea a direction.

Mood, tempo, purpose, first structure. No arrangement yet - just the decision of what this track actually wants to become.

Stage 03 · Develop

The honest reality check.

Does the track have substance or just a good sound? This is where you cut - and it's the most valuable step in the whole system.

Stage 04 · Arrange

The sketch becomes a track.

Arrangement, transitions, resilience. From here on the track stands without your goodwill - variants and versions included.

Stage 05 · Refine

Refine means done.

No “one more pass on the hats”. Refine is a state with criteria - checklist ticked, mix approved, bounce exists.

Stage 06 · Release

Ship it - as a decision.

Artwork, metadata, sync status, licence. Release isn't a hope, it's the last documented step of a process.

Desktop app · macOS

One window. The whole track.

Stage, maturity, variants, notes, due dates, flow status - all in one place, without rebuilding your setup. Density over decoration: built for sessions, not for screenshots.

MusicOS track detail
ONE glance
Stage, maturity, open checklists, variants and due dates - visible without opening the session.
6 stages
Stages that force a real creative decision - not six columns with names.
NO forced cloud
Your tracks stay where they've always lived - no reshuffling, no new folder structure. MusicOS sits on top, not in between.
Not another board

Not a kanban with a music skin.

Generic tools
  • Manage tasks and deadlines
  • “In progress” means everything and nothing
  • Cloud required, data managed elsewhere
  • Invented for teams, used by one person
MusicOS
  • Manages musical maturity
  • Every stage is a decision
  • Local-first, fully usable offline
  • Built for producers, not managers
Who it's for

If one of these lines stings, MusicOS is for you.

You have 100+ project folders and keep opening the same five.
You'd rather start fresh than make a decision.
You have more sketches than released songs - far more.
You want to release consistently this year, not accidentally.
